2018 – Solar Statistics

How did the solar panels fare over 2018?

Here’s a graph showing monthly output in 2018 (in orange) displayed against the average of what we would expect (the green line), and the last six years until 2017 averaged (blue line).

January 32.78 91% 104.97
February 80.63 137% 105.97
March 81.12 81% 107.09
April 118.75 82% 108.73
May 181.62 117% 111.16
June 210.88 128% 113.98
July 202.93 134% 116.78

September 107.85 97% 120.17
October 76.90 105% 121.23
November 40.03 90% 121.77
December 24.67 82% 122.11
Year Average 108% 17.60

Despite a couple of snowy spells in March 2018, the production for 2018 was above average and we finished the year with 108% of expected generation. The key summer months were especially productive, especially June and July, and we are very pleased with how the panels have performed this year. The previous issues with the inverters have – fingers crossed – not proved a problem this year. Fingers crossed for a similarly successful year in 2019.
